At Easton on Portland's tophill. Built in the 18th century when it was decided to abandon St Andrew's church at Church Ope Cove, in need of repairs having been raided by pirates, because it was too small for the island's population.

How to leave your comment

Comments can be made at this photo's flickr page, here. To leave comments on that page you will require a Yahoo login.

I am currently working on a simpler way of adding comments to this page (and a far less time consuming one for those without a Yahoo login), but for now, use flickr.

Nice image of a subject shown best in B&W. It's now in the care of the "redundant churches" organisation and occasionally the interior is accessible. Seen in Dorset Group.
